Archimed, agile document solution vendor

Created in November 1993, Archimed started out its business catering to libraries and museums by offering multimedia document management and sharing solutions.

Having acquired a reputation in this field by the end of the 90s, the company very soon sought to expand its markets to government agencies and the community, proposing applications that meet the challenges of a nationwide modernization movement (paperless transactions for administrative procedures, citizen portal, etc).

Key dates

In June 2000, Archimed created its subsidiary in Tunisia in order to conquer the Middle East and Africa (MEA) market. Archimed Tunisia was also on a mission to internationalize its product range, in particular providing support for multiple alphabets (Latin, Arabic, Cyrillic, etc).

In 2003, backed by more than a decade of experience in the public sector, Archimed extended its reach to the private sector and offered a software range allowing the resolution of the issues that corporations encountered in the management of information (archiving, collaborative work, mail and invoice management, etc).

The following year, Archimed’s GED (Electronic Document Management) division was established. Its product offerings are positioned for both the public and private sectors.

In February 2008, Archimed opened a branch office in Paris to facilitate commercial relations and to allow projects to be carried out more easily.

In September 2009, Archimed created Libfly.com, the francophone social network dedicated to books and reading.

In September 2010, Archimed acquired the Grenoble-based company Opsys, 20 years older than itself, which published the library management software Aloès. This move propelled Archimed to the position of leading French software vendor for libraries and document centers.

Today, Archimed consists of more than 500 client portfolios and 130 employees, spread out over 5 sites in France, Tunisia and Canada. The head office is located in the northern French city of Lille, at the heart of the European Union.
